Физическая культура и спорт оказывают влияние на внешнюю и внутреннюю политику страны. В условиях эскалации напряжения между странами Запада и Россией, одной из узловых точек западной санкционной политики стал именно спорт высших достижений. Актуальность работы определяется необходимостью проанализировать инструментарий коммеморации советско-российского спорта, который в перспективе способен укрепить национальное самосознание и ценностные ориентиры граждан. В рамках исследования авторы предложили два подхода для анализа феномена коммеморации, а именно расширительный и ограничительный. На основе разработанной системы коммеморативных практик в области спорта показано, что мемориализация спорта в России является составной частью официальной политики памяти. В то же время существуют эпизоды спонтанной коммеморации, осуществляемой неинституциональными мнемоническими акторами. На основе вторичного анализа данных, материалов качественного социологического исследования и разработанной классификации были выделены особенности коммеморации советско-российского спорта: двухуровневый процесс мемориализации спорта (федеральный и региональный уровни); гибридный характер отечественного спортивного пантеона; трансляция военной истории с помощью коммеморативных практик в области спорта, а также усиливающийся процесс медиатизации памяти и культурного наследия.

The paper explores the role of sports within the framework of contemporary official politics of memory. Despite the significance of commemorative practices related to Russian sports, there is a lack of detailed and systematic documentation in existing academic literature. Nevertheless, it can be argued that physical culture and sports have a substantial impact on both domestic foreign policies. Under escalating tensions between Western countries and Russia, high performance sports have become a focal point of sanctions policies. This work is motivated by the unprecedented political pressure exerted on Russian sports by Western actors, which has led to certain shifts in Russian politics of memory. Therefore, it is essential to analyze how institutional mnemonic actors commemorate Soviet and Russian sports. This topic is critical since the politics of memory, and particularly in the realm of sports, serves to reinforce national identity and establish shared values. The authors propose both expansive and restrictive approaches to the analysis of commemoration. Through the developed framework of commemorative practices in sports, the paper shows that memorialization of sports in Russia is an integral part of the official politics of memory. Additionally, instances of spontaneous (i.e. grassroots) commemoration by non-institutional mnemonic actors are observed. Based on some secondary data, qualitative sociological research and an established classification, the authors identify key characteristics of Soviet-Russian sports commemoration, including: a two-tiered memorialization process operating at federal and regional levels; the hybrid nature of the domestic sports pantheon; the transmission of military history narratives through commemorative practices in sports, and the increasing mediatization of memory and cultural heritage.
